Kanceliarinės kalbos patarimai
Office language is the language of the office and documents that are written there. It is used for writing administrative and in-house documents, different regulative and other letters of governmental bodies. The term “administrative language” is used in much the same sense, however, in addition to office language, it also covers the spoken language of this domain and, to some extent, the written and spoken language of law.
The book Kanceliarinės kalbos patarimai (Recommendations for Office Language) is designed for anyone writing all kinds of documents, teaching others or learning how to write them, from employees of governmental and municipal institutions to college professors, teachers, students and schoolchildren.
This publication is written so as to enable the reader both to find the necessary facts, and to understand them. Things that are appropriate and practical are presented first, usually followed by cases that are not fit to use. Instead of just giving the reader a list of common mistakes, an effort is made to come up with a recommendation of what is appropriate and what is not in office language, and what should not be changed unnecessarily.
